Just a few laps into his “sans training wheels” era of bike riding, the Boy is already learning the fine art of trash talking on two wheels.

This week’s happiness…
- The Boy made three baskets last night on a 10-foot hoop, using a kid-sized basketball and shooting the proper way (not underhanded). He was so proud of himself and we are very proud of him. :)
- We got good news on a family member who has been ill and hospitalized - they’re going home!
- We spent some great family time together this week. We don’t watch TV in the afternoons and evenings when we get home. We play a little, have dinner, maybe some chores, some dessert, and then we read and if he’s been extra good, we’ll let him stay up a little late and catch lightning bugs.
- The Boy is excited about going on his first camping trip.
- He is volunteering to try new things like fried green tomatoes and fish. You have no idea how big of a deal this is! It’s as if all the convincing is finally working!
- The Boy learned how to tie his shoes last week and this week, he said he’s rather wear his shoes with laces than the shoes with velcro!
- As always, I’m thankful for my loving and supportive wife, an amazing little boy, our family’s good health, our careers, a nice house, reliable transportation, good friends, the best family I could ever hope for, and a loyal four-legged friend (the Dog).

Thank you so much! I'm glad that you enjoy the gratitude/happiness posts. I really do think that at times we can be overworked (esp. in America) and sometimes you can get lost in the stress and frenzy of all that so I try to just take some time every week to reflect and give thanks for what I have even if sometimes sounds silly... thankful for a pizza? A little weird but at least I had food to eat this week you know?
Anyway, I invite you to do it on Tumblr too, but if not just remember to take a minute or two and just smile and be thankful that you have a wonderful family and thankful that you're a Hokie (obviously).
