In honor of caitydru’s quest to have “Gary Cope” like guns, here ya go!
Between her being sick last week and me being sick over the weekend and this week, I haven’t been to the gym in more than a week and I’m getting antsy. I did manage to walk a lot last week and even got in a couple of runs.
Outside of that, the only thing I’ve been doing is pushups. This morning, the Boy and I did pushups after he woke up - it’s a new thing we’re doing. He’s up to seven, which is pretty good for him! When it was my turn, I asked him, “How many do you want daddy to do this morning.” He said, “40!”
Boom… knocked out 40 proper pushups in less than a minute. He was in awe, though I know I can do better. I told him that when daddy started working out to get in better shape 18 months ago, I could barely do 10 without collapsing. On a good day, I can do 50.
That being said, I haven’t been a complete slacker, but I do hope to get back in the gym tomorrow or Friday. Oh, and here’s a GPOYW post of me being a complete dork. It’s kinda my thing.

No smile for you!

OK, fine. Here’s another GPOYW.
Football season is only three days away, which means I’ll be resuming my game day duties as a Hokie Vision camera operator. This will be my fourth season behind the cameras in Lane Stadium.
When I started the 2008 season, I was probably a good 250 pounds and squeezing into the extra large shirt that all Hokie Vision camera monkeys wear. Prior to the 2010 season (this time last year) I was about a month into my new fitness campaign, but was down to about 220 and actually got a large Nike Virginia Tech polo shirt.
I stopped by the athletics department earlier this week to pick up the new shirt (as seen above) and this year … I’m in a medium. I’m in the best shape of my life and I’m stronger now than I’ve ever been and I’m not done yet! GO HOKIES!
GPOYW: I found this old photo from college. It’s of me and three friends. We were taking a class in which we had to form a fictional network television station - and as I recall, we named it WXTC - and either create original programming or purchase programs from production houses made up of other students in the class.
We were a creative bunch, so we opted to create the majority of our own prime-time programming lineup ourselves. While we didn’t have to actually shoot any video of the shows, we did need to develop the synopsis for each. This photo was for a half-hour sitcom about four recent college grads trying to make it in the real world. Pretty original, huh?
That’s me on the left. I was the jock that couldn’t accept the fact that I wasn’t BMOC any more. Tara was the pretty and popular sorority girl who realized that the real world was a bit harder than she thought. Clay was the smart, but socially awkward guy who had the grades to get the good job, but learns that he needs more than good grades to be successful. Last, but not least, is Sylvia - the tree hugger who must leave her comfort zone and try to balance her environmental beliefs with the reality that she needs to make do in this world.
Good times.
This is a picture of me and my wonderful dog, Bailey in front of the Charlottesville Library.

Hey! It’s my pal Amanda and her pup, Bailey - a day late with their GPOWY. ;) Amanda is one of most talented graphic designers with whom I’ve ever worked. She’s also a blast to hang out with, as is the entire team at Business Bullpen! Looking forward to the next time I get to catch up with the Charlottesville crew!
GPOYW (Gratuitous Picture of Yourself Wednesday): The “Thems fightin’ words!” edition. Actually, this photo was taken in Charlottesville. And as you know, I’m a Hokie, so I had to be on my guard while in Hooville. Though, if their football team is any indication, I didn’t expect much resistance, it might mess up their popped collars or make them spill their Zimas.
