When Ryan Williams announced he was leaving Virginia Tech for the NFL, there was some question as to where he would be drafted. Mock drafts had him going anywhere from the second round to the fourth. With the first round of the NFL draft in the book, the second round began tonight and it only took six picks before the Arizona Cardinals to take Tech’s single-season rushing record holder.

My boy with Virginia Tech’s Ryan Williams. What a class act! He was great with all the kids - smiles and sincere appreciation for each little Hokie fan who lined up for his autograph and a photo. The Hokies couldn’t ask for a better ambassador. The rushing and touchdown records don’t hurt either. Or so I’m told.
