Didn’t have time for a full workout today, so even though it was raining a bit, I grabbed my umbrella and went for a quick 2-mile walk. Then it was right back to my desk. Felt good to get some fresh air.
Another nice day, another fast-paced walk instead of 30 minutes at the gym on a boring bike or treadmill going nowhere. I figure I can get some extra walking in where as if I went to the gym, I have to spend 30 minutes changing in and out of clothes, plus a shower. Walking isn’t as hard core, but it’s easier on the joints and at the pace I go, I’m definitely burning calories.
The wind chill outside is 18 degrees. Yep. I was one of those crazy people you see running in sub freezing temperatures. My fellow runners and fitness friends on Tumblr help keep me going - thanks, y’all - especially this post from @graceinplace.
Power walk to return a library book. And I’m saving gas and putting less pollution in the air we breath. Just another Friday.
EDIT: That’s how I stroll.
It was 63 degrees outside today, so instead of going to the gym, I put my running shoes on and decided to walk from my office to the library to return a book. And do you know that of all the students I passed, easily more than a hundred, only one smiled and said hi.
