It might be kind of hard to see, but it’s snowing in Blacksburg right now. Pretty good, too. Won’t last, though.

And this is why I moved back to the ‘Burg.
The new kits are in! Can’t wait for the first game. Of course, I say this now, let’s see how I do in goal for the first game.
Since I’m in the best shape of my life, I’ve decided to play soccer this season. I registered with the New River United Soccer Association, but was told that they could not guarantee I would get “drafted.” Lo and behold, I was drafted as a keeper by The Goats of Castle’s Kettle & Pub - a restaurant still under construction in Blacksburg.
The owners, despite still working on their establishment, were very enthusiastic about sponsoring a local football club and while I have no idea how this season will go, I’m confident that I’ll have a great time. It’s been awhile - 15 years - since I’ve played organized soccer, so here’s hoping I don’t embarrass myself!
When the new pub opens, you’re all invited to join me for a pint!

Already looking forward to taking the Boy to Steppin’ Out again this year! Last year, he learned how to hulu hoop. Last month, I was approached by an ad agency that asked if they could pitch this video to a client for a commercial. I said sure, but the client chose another clip. Their loss!

(19/365 - March 9, 2011) Spring break couldn’t have come at a better time for Virginia Tech students. Since they’ve been gone, we’ve been getting soaked here in the NRV. We had 2-4 inches of rain last weekend and are currently being doused with another 1-3 inches. It’s cold, wet and miserable here in the Burg. But, it still beats living in Charlottesville!

I was at the Media Annex building near Squires today and snapped this shot. It’s a beautiful fall day here in Blacksburg today. Currently 66 degrees. Just perfect!
