Me, Her, the Boy and a Dog

The adventures of me, her, my boy and our dog as we navigate life in a crazy world. We love the outdoors, sports, reading, playing, and of course, the Virginia Tech Hokies and the William & Mary Tribe.

Also, I founded the GoFightWinVT Tumblr, so if you're a Hokie, give it a follow. And, feel free to check out my Project 365 Tumblr.

Virginia Tech offensive lineman Sergio Render in on the 2009 Outland Trophy preseason watch list. Render ( 6-3, 308 pounds) enters the 2009 season as a three year starter and the leader of what looks to be a much-improved offensive line. Render is one of those rare players who has basically started every game since his freshman season. In three years he has 39 starts, making him the unquestioned veteran leader of the this unit.

His senior season, however, will not be without its challenges. For starters, he moves from right guard to left guard this season, presumably to protect the Hokies’ only viable quarterback Tyrod Taylor’s blind side. Render missed all of the spring practice season after shoulder surgery, but was back in time for the start of the fall practice session.

Three other ACC players made the Football Writers Association of America’s Outland Trophy preseason watch list, which includes 40 names total:

Vince Oghobaase, Duke
Boo Robinson, Wake Forest
Matt Tennant, Boston College
