When TV does it right, it matches the best of what’s on the silver screen.  HBO spared no expense in creating this ten-part miniseries from executive producers Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, bringing aboard composer Hans Zimmer - along with collaborators Geoff Zanelli and Blake Neely - to write the stirring, inspiring score, one fitting for the subject at hand.

Never fails to put a lump in my throat, and worth a listen today.

I enjoyed The Pacific, but it paled in comparison to Band of Brothers. Not from a production standpoint, but from a character standpoint. I didn’t feel the acting was as strong and I never connected with the characters and their stories in The Pacific like I did with Band of Brothers. Regardless, it was a wonderfully done series about often forgotten about soldiers in World War II.
