LOL! Burn Notice is one of my favorite shows and here’s just one reason why; a little poke at David Caruso of CSI Miami. And yes, that is Bruce Campbell of Army of Darkness fame.

The Campaign for Virginia Tech: All-American Hokie... →
The All-American Hokie Trading Card website won a Special Merit Award at the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District III conference last week (Feb. 21-24).
The site was recognized under the Advancement Services Projects category. The development team consisted of…

ESPN Suspended Tony Kornheiser for Telling the...
Ever since Hannah Storm joined ESPN, I have often been critical of her wardrobe. She’s 47 years old and dresses like she’s a 20-year-old coed getting ready to go out to the bars on Friday night. She’s worn short mini-skirts, skin tight tops and go-go boots, or as we call them, FMBs. Don’t know what FMB stands for? Visit urbandictionary.com.
I like Hannah Storm. I think...

What part of "killer whale" don't they get?
By now, you’ve probably heard about the death of SeaWorld trainer Dawn Brancheau. Her death is truly sad and my thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
The Today Show had a reporter, Kerry Sanders, live in Orlando and I kid you not, he led with the following sentence:
“It’s unclear what went wrong here and animal experts say they may never clearly understand why this killer...

NBC is getting killed on Twitter for showing ice...
I thought NBC learned its lesson about making crappy programming decisions (see Jay Leno), but apparently they still suck at it. Today, they chose ice dancing, bobsledding and skiing over the single biggest Olympic hockey game in 30 years; USA vs. Canada.
Sure, the game was on MSNBC, but most of the country doesn’t get MSNBC. We have more than 120 channels with our DISH Network package...

Setting the record straight, one Tumblr post at a...
Last month, I wrote a blog post (clicky your clicker here) about what I perceived to be false advertising on the part of Walmart (shocker, I know) and StraightTalk.com. The latter was advertising an “unlimited” pay-as-you-go cell phone plan/card that allowed for unlimited calling, texting and web (i.e. data) for only $45 every 30 days.
The only problem was that on the back of the...

Virginia Tech alumnus, Dr. Sidney Smith, worked on the American Heart Association’s GoRedforWomen.org campaign. It’s a very important cause - heart disease is the No. 1 killer among women in this country. We all have women in our lives that mean the world to us, be it your mom, sister, grandmother, aunt, daughter, cousin or a friend. Encourage them to visit GoRedforWomen.org and make...

Roanoke Times Editorial on Gov. McDonnell's budget...
From the Roanoke Times editorial section:
“The General Assembly runs with the maximum constitutional size for both chambers: 40 senators and 100 delegates. If I’m reading the constitution correctly, and the language appears straightforward, lawmakers could thin their ranks in both chambers, dumping seven senate seats and 10 house seats. Gov. Bob McDonnell is ready to slash schools,...

Letter from Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell to State...
Reposted without comment…
February 17, 2010
Dear Fellow State Employee:
Undoubtedly, the biggest challenge facing us this General Assembly Session is balancing the state budget. However, I know that the professional manner in which you have dealt with the 2008 and 2009 budget reductions will ensure that the services and programs our citizens depend upon will continue at their current...

Dear Tumblr...
Why does your “edit” function only work in Firefox? When I try to edit my posts in Chrome or Safari, I get an error message. But, when I edit the same post in FF, it works like a champ.

Hokies Release 2010 College Football Schedule →
Gag. This is one of the weakest schedules the Hokies have had in years. I guess Weaver figured Nebraska and Alabama in one year was good enough.

My Tweets from Last Night's Grammy Awards
In case you missed (or ignored) my Tweets from last night’s Grammy awards, here you go. Warning, do not drink milk while reading these. Unless, of course, you didn’t watch the Grammys, in which case, none of my Tweets will be even remotely funny. Come to think of it, even if you watched, they may not be funny. Unlikely, but there is a chance. Just sayin’.
