WatchWatch
From my collection of obscure 1990’s songs, this is Earth to Andy, a Charlottesville-based rock band formed in the late 90s. While the song “I’m Still After You” - off their 1999 album Chronicles, was their biggest hit, reaching No. 39 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Charts in 1999, my favorite song is “Everafter.” Carry on.

I amuse me
So, last night She’s blow drying her hair and when done, She comes out of the bathroom, hair all over the place. She was waiting for me to say something witty and make her laugh. I paused for a moment, searching for the appropriate response… then said the following…

(Please read her tone as snarky and sarcastic)
Her: Did you watch the State of the Union?
Me: I tuned in around 10 while I was folding laundry.
Her: You didn't watch the whole thing?!
Me: Did something big happen?
Her: I just thought you were an Obama lover.
Me: If by Obama lover you mean an awesome Democrat, then yes I am. But no, I did not sit there with a bowl of popcorn to devour his every word. I've only ever watched one State of the Union and that's because I had to write a paper on it. I'll catch the highlights and main points from the news that I watch every morning, or NPR on my commute, or by READING.
Her: Yea, but the places you get your news are probably biased. I just thought you cared more.
Me: Listen, actions speak louder than words. It's an old tradition to stand up there and say a lot of pretty words to make people feel good. Not watching it doesn't mean I don't care.

kimbaland asked: The comment was a criticism of people I follow on Tumblr who equate that hug with his presidency. On my dash Obama is loved for his tie choice, Michelle's fashion, the dog, etc. If you want to say you love him for x, y, & z policies, I don't have a problem. And I agree that any president would have done the same. But, don't forget about trivial criticisms of Republicans -...

Time for some soccer.
baaconnn: Best gif ever. All of your arguments are invalid. Major goalie crush! Seriously. I’m the goalie for the reigning NRUSA champions. It’s purely a soccer-related crush.

Google analytics is pretty nifty!
For example, I know that more than a few people in Charlottesville visited my Tumblr in the last 30 days and spent an average of 5:23 on the site, which by the way, is powered by Business Bullpen’s Single A theme.  I lived in Charlottesville (home of the Wahoos) for nearly four years, so it’s not surprising that an old friend or colleague is catching up on what I’ve been doing...

Path is my favorite social network →
My jerk friend Todd introduced me to Path (he also introduced me to Tumblr four years ago) and after nearly of month, it is my favorite social networking tool and the first one I got to when I want to post an update. First of all, Path is only for your iPhone, Droid or iPad. You can’t login to a website from your laptop or desktop and update your status - everything is done through your...

Imagine a social network that combines the voyeurism of Facebook with the visual intimacy of Instagram, the real-time newsreel of Twitter with the exclusiveness of a backyard barbecue.

– A great anonymous quote posted on Path by my jerk friend Todd about why Path is better than Facebook. I love Path, but only allow access to people with whom I have a personal connection.

Today's workout - Day 2 of a 3-day split - Biceps...
My biceps… are on… FIRE! This was a brutal routine. I seriously thought my biceps were going to rip right out of my skin. (How’s that for an after-lunch picture-in-your-head?). Anyhow, just like the chest and tris, it was a little embarrassing to be lifting relatively light weights, but you have to when you’re doing 24 sets, all of which are targeting two muscle groups. ...

An innovative idea for gyms when dealing with...
Do you go to a gym regularly like me? Then you’ve probably seen the New Year’s newbs trying to stick with their resolutions to lose weight/get healthy/etc. I’m all for it and I hope they succeed! So, to help them stick with their goals, I think all fitness clubs and gyms should institute a new cancellation policy and it goes a little something like this: If you want to quit...

Today's workout - Day 1 of a 3-day split
Today I started a new strength training routine, so as with any routine, I took it easy on the weights, especially since I was going with 4 sets and blasting two muscle groups. Fatigue sets in quickly when you move from one set to the next targeting the same muscles. Today was day one of a 3-Day Split: Chest & Triceps. I felt kinda silly throwing up 95 pounds on the bench press, but want to...

MPAA Responds to SOPA Protests →
soupsoup: The following is a statement by Senator Chris Dodd, Chairman and CEO of the Motion  Picture Association of America, Inc. (MPAA) on the so-called “Blackout Day” protesting anti-piracy legislation:  “Only days after the White House and chief sponsors of the legislation responded to the major concern expressed by opponents and then called for all parties to work cooperatively together,...
